As part of the directives of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research to implement the National Strategy for Education and Higher Education, and under the patronage of Professor Dr. Saleh Mahdi Ma’arij Al-Quraawi, Dean of Al-Hussain University College, the Continuing Education Division at the college organized a scientific seminar titled:
"Challenges Facing the Electric Power System in Iraq," on Sunday, April 13, 2025.
The seminar was attended by high-profile figures, most notably the Governor of Holy Karbala, Engineer Nassif Jassim Al-Khattabi, and the Deputy Head of the Karbala Provincial Council, Legal Expert Mahfouz Al-Tamimi, in addition to a group of academics, specialists, and students.
The seminar lecture was delivered by Assistant Professor Dr. Qusay Abdul Sattar, a faculty member at the college. He addressed several core topics related to the reality of electric power in Iraq, including:
The seminar witnessed significant engagement from the attendees, with enriching and constructive discussions that reflected the keenness of academics and stakeholders to contribute to solving one of the most vital issues affecting citizens’ lives. It also emphasized the important academic role in supporting sustainable development plans.
